Talk:Cisco NX-OS/IOS Layer-3 Virtualization Comparison
The example is incorrect.
I can find no IOS router that will accept the configs as presented. All my tests indicate that IOS demands that the VRF be configured with an RD. Was this example actually tested?
By omitting the RD from the example and discussion, this document suggests that the internal implementation of virutualization constructs such as VRFs are similar between IOS and NX-OS. Clearly, they are not.
Also, I would add there is no mention of "route leaking". As mentioned above, defining an RD is mandatory in Cisco IOS, does Nexus supports RD/route leak? Also, can a VRF leak or learn route from the global routing table?
