SocialMiner Administration: Get Active Directory Manager Distinguished Name to use in SocialMiner configuration

Problem Summary Users cannot sign in to SocialMiner.
Error Message N/A
Possible Cause The connection between SocialMiner and Active Directory is not configured correctly.
Recommended Action
  1. Open a DOS command prompt on the Active Directory machine.
  2. Type the following command:
    dsquery user
  3. If you have many users configured, you can use the following command to narrow your search:
    dsquery user -name <name of user>*
    For example, to get the connection string for a user whose name starts with ccpOU1, type the following:
    dsquery user -name ccpOU1*
  4. When you have the connection string, copy and paste it into the Manager Distinguished Name field in SocialMiner (Administration tab > System Administration > Active Directory).
  5. In the Manager Password field, enter the password for the user that you entered in the previous step.
  6. Click Save.
