ServiceGrid Article - Dialog Permissions

Overview

Setting the permissions allows an administrator of a WikiSpace to enable or disable the WikiSpace on three levels as follows:

  1. BPartners
  2. PermissionGroups
  3. Uses

Permissions

Administrators can set Permissions on every WikiSpace to define user access to specific WikiSpace.

Permissions can be set for the following:

SD.dialog / WikiSpaces / [selected wikispace]

None: The user cannot see the the content of the wiki space.
Read: The user can read the content of the wiki space but is not allowed to make any changes.
Write: The user can edit existing topics that are in status Work or Draft, add new topics, and comment topics.

Further, the user who created the topic can edit the topics in status Final, Published and Inactive, if this user has created this topic.

The Administrator user can edit all the topics, and has an additional ability to delete and move topics, edit the navigation, the copyright or any bottom text, and edit the style sheet.

Administrators can set permissions at the following levels:

  • Company
  • PermissionGroup
  • User

If permissions are set on multiple levels:
CompanyPermission: Lowest priority, chosen if neither permission group nor user permission is set.
PermissionGroup: Medium priority, chosen if no userpermission is set.
UserPermission: Highest priority, chosen if set.

Owner

OwnerDefaultPermission

Defines the permission for users of the owner company.

Possible values are as follows:

  • None
  • Read
  • Write
  • Administrator

This permission can be overridden by setting permissions for the following:

  • PermissionGroups
  • Users

The OwnerDefaultPermission can be set at the Detail view of an owned WikiSapce.

AccessPermission for enabled companies

When a WikiSpace is enabled for another Company, the owner sets the AccessPermission. The AccessPermission defines the highest allowed permission.

Possible values are:

  • Read
  • Write
  • Administrator

The AccessPermission can be set after enabling the Company for the WikiSpace.

Setting permissions for PermissionGroups
At the detail view of a WikiSpace, permissions for a specific permissiongroup can be set.

To set permissions for permission groups, follow these steps:

Step 1: Click PermissionGroups in the left navigation tree.
Step 2: Add permissiongroups to the list through the Topfunction Assign PermissionGroups.
Step 3: Set the ReadWritePermission, after adding permissiongroups.

NOTE: The permission has to be lower or equal to the AccessPermission set by the owner of the WikiSpace.


Setting permissions for Users
At the detail view of a WikiSpace, permissions for a specific user can be set.

To set permissions for users, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click Users in the left navigation tree.

Step 2: Add users to the list through the Topfunction Assign User to WikiSpace.

Step 3:  Set the ReadWritePermission, after adding users.

NOTE: The permission has to be lower or equal to the AccessPermission set by the owner of the WikiSpace.
