Overview

Devices such as hardware, software and documents are exactly referred to one device type, one organization, and one location. Each device has a mapped service level within a contract. A device might have an owner (user).

Primary Key: The primary (unique) key of a device record consists of the combination of Company (short name of the company), Manufacturer (short name of the manufacturer), Type, and SerNr (serial number).

The integrity conditions will not allow any double serial number within the same device type (Manufacturer and Type). This is based on the idea of the unique identification of devices in the CMDB.
