OpenStack: Creating SSH Keys

From DocWiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This section describes how to create an SSH key for use in an OpenStack Installation.

  • You must have root access to a node that you will use to connect remotely to OpenStack instances.
  • You must source the /root/openrc file, if available, or set the OS_USERNAME environment variable before proceeding.

  • Create SSH keys on the node that will be used to SSH into the OpenStack instances (in the following example, the key pair name is "aio-key"):
cd /root/.ssh/
nova keypair-add --pub_key aio-key
