Known Issue: Login Failure to Cisco Unified Personal Communicator

User cannot sign into Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.


What Caused it?

Typically, this happens if either of these are true:

  1. the user is not licensed to use Cisco Unified Personal Communicator
  2. the licensing information has not synchronized properly from Cisco Unified Communications Manager.


What Can You Do?


The first thing to do is to license the user (if required) to use Cisco Unified Personal Communicator. Go to Cisco Unified Communications Manager and select System > Licensing > Capabilities > Assignment.

Otherwise, verify that the licensing information has synchronized correctly from Cisco Unified Communications Manager to Cisco Unified Presence. Go to Cisco Unified Presence Administration and select System > Cluster Topology. Next search the Assigned Users for the user that you want to verify. When the Presence Viewer page displays for that user, verify that the user is licensed for Cisco Unified Personal Communicator.

If you see that there is a mismatch with the licensing configuration on Cisco Unified Communications Manager, it points to an issue with the synchronization of data from Cisco Unified Communications Manager to Cisco Unified Presence.
