Desktop: Agent with special characters in ID cannot sign in

Problem Summary A Unified CCX agent or supervisor who has an ID that contains special characters cannot sign in to the Finesse desktop.
Error Message Invalid ID or password. Please try again. 
Possible Cause

The agent or supervisor ID contains special characters that are not supported by Finesse. Finesse only supports a subset of the special characters that Unified CCX supports.

Finesse supports the following characters for agent and supervisor IDs: letters, numbers, hyphens (-), underscores (_), and periods (.).However, agent IDs cannot begin with a period or end with a period and cannot contain two periods in a row. For example:

  • John.Smith is supported.
  • .JohnSmith is not supported.
  • JohnSmith. is not supported.
  • John..Smith is not supported.
Recommended Action Change the agent or supervisor ID to one that contains characters supported by Finesse.
