Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1 > System Requirements

New installations of Release 6.1 require a Cisco Media Convergence Server (MCS) dedicated to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace applications. Hardware configuration is based on the number of voice and web-conferencing user licenses (ports) on your system.


When reviewing this section, note the following considerations:

  • You must have installed Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 6.1 on the machine before installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 6.1.
  • You must install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Release 6.1 in the same directory as Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing. (For example, if you install Web Conferencing in C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems, also install Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes in the Cisco Systems directory.)

Component Requirement

Integration server machine

(This is the same machine on which you installed Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 6.1.)

Hardware

  • A Cisco MCS, or the exact equivalent from HP or IBM, that is dedicated to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace applications. The number of MCSs that you require depends on the number of voice and web-conferencing user licenses (ports) on your Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system.
    Note: For information about the Cisco MCS, go to http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/voiceapp/ps378/index.html.
  • Cisco MCS-7835-H1-RC1, MCS-7835-H2-RC1, MCS-7835-I1-RC1, or MCS-7835-I2-RC1
    • For systems up to 480 voice user licenses.
    • Supports up to 50 web-conferencing user licenses.
  • Cisco MCS-7845-H1-RC1, MCS-7845-H2-RC1, MCS-7845-I1-RC1, MCS-7845-I2-RC1, MCS-7845-I3-RC1*, or MCS-7835-I3-RC1
    • For systems up to 1,152 voice user licenses.
    • Supports up to 500 web-conferencing user licenses per server.
    • If you have more than 50 web-conferencing user licenses, move the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace integrations (for example, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Outlook, SMTP E-Mail Gateway) to a Cisco MCS 7845 or Cisco MCS 7835-I3-RC1 that is dedicated to web conferencing.
    Note: MCS-7845-I3-RC1 is supported in Release 6.1 MR1 and later.
  • Add a dedicated Cisco MCS 7845 or Cisco MCS 7835-I3-RC1 for each additional 200 web-conferencing user licenses.


Operating System

Cisco MCS OS 2003.1.1 or later.


Software

  • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Release 6.1 installed and running.
(Release 6.1 supports the Web Conferencing version 6.1 click-to-attend links.)
  • Lotus Notes client version 6.03, 6.04, 6.05, 6.52, 6.53, 6.54, 6.55, or 7.01.


Other

  • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) version 6.0.
Microsoft IIS 6.0 is installed and configured on the Cisco MCS when the operating system is installed.
  • Lotus Notes template 6.03, 6.52, 6.54, 6.55, or 7.01.,8.0, 8.0.1, and 8.0.2.

IBM Lotus Domino server

IBM Lotus Domino version 6.0x, or 6.5x, 7.0x, 8.0.


Note: The IBM Lotus Domino server and Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Notes Release 6.1 must reside on separate machines. IBM Lotus Domino must run on a Windows machine.

Audio Server

Hardware

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8112 server or Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8106 server.


Software

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server Release 6.1.


Other

  • Access ports (voice).
  • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace WebPublisher Option Key.
  • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Data Conferencing Option Key (required for application sharing and presentations).
  • Cisco MeetingNotes Data Option Key (required for presentations and attachments).
  • Cisco MeetingNotes Voice Option Key (required for meeting recordings).
  • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Option Key (required for video conferencing).

WebConnect Requirements

WebConnect provides seamless integration between multiple internal and external web-conferencing servers through a single URL.

End-User Requirements

Release 6.1 is compatible with third-party environments as indicated in Table: End-User Requirements for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes 6.1. Service packs (SPs) listed are required minimums; service packs later than the ones listed are assumed to work unless documented otherwise.

Windows

  • Windows ME, Windows 2000 Professional, Windows 2000 Server Edition (SP 2), Windows 2000 Advanced Server Edition (SP 2), or Windows XP operating system.


    • Louts Notes Templates 6.5.4, 6.5.5, 6.5.6, 7.0.1, 7.0.2, 8.0, 8.0.1, and 8.0.2.
      • Users of Domino server R6.5 require the Lotus Notes version 6.5.4, 6.5.5, or 6.5.6 client and template.
      • Users of Domino server R7 require the Lotus Notes version 7.0.1 or 7.0.2 client and template.
      • Users of Domino server R8 require the Lotus Notes version 8.0, 8.0.1, or 8.0.2 client and template.
