Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1 -- Problems with Timezones and Daylight Savings Time

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 6.1 > Web Conferencing




Follow this procedure to update the timezone of the Java Virtual Machine (JVM). (You may need to do this if new locations implement daylight savings time):

  1. Obtain the latest version of the TZUpdater tool from Sun’s Java SE download site at http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp.
  2. Stop the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing Services.
  3. Unpack the downloaded file.
  4. Move the tzupdater.jar file into the C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWeb\WebConf\appserv\lib directory.
  5. Update the timezone of the Java Virtual Machine:
    1. Access the command prompt by choosing Start > Run.
    2. Enter cmd.
    3. Enter cd C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWeb\WebConf\appserv\lib.
    4. Enter ..\win32\jre\bin\java.exe –jar tzupdater.jar -u
  6. Verify that the creation date of the C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWeb\WebConf\appserv\win32\jre\lib\zi directory is the current date.
  7. Copy the C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWeb\WebConf\appserv\win32\jre\lib\zi directory into C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWeb\WebConf\appserv\win32\jre.
  8. Start the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing services.
