Duplex mode

How information moves.

Note: You cannot set the duplex mode during the operating system configuration, documented in the Configuring the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Server. By default, it is set to full duplex. If you need to change the duplex mode to half duplex, change it during the application installation which is described in the Installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Express Application.

Note: When transmitting voice across a data network, half duplex can cause packet collisions, which can result in degraded voice quality. Therefore, full duplex is the recommended choice in all cases. Half duplex should only be used when no full duplex switch port is available, and then only at a speed of 1000 Mbps.
