If you are at Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 5.4 or 6.0, you can migrate to Release 7.1 from a previous release. Migration preserves some of the existing customer and system data while installing a new system.
Table: Migration Requirements lists the basic migration requirements. For detailed migration information, see About Migration.
Notes:
- We currently only support migrations to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1 from Release 6.0 maintenance release 5 (MR5). If you are using an earlier version of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, then you must first upgrade to Release 6.0 MR5.
- You need new licenses for your Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1 system. Licenses for a Release 6.0 system will not work on a Release 7.1 system. For details about licenses, see About Licenses.
- Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 6.1.2 or Release 7.0 is required for voice and video SIP integration to Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1. Cisco Unified Communications Manager software is automatically provided with the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1 Application Server software. Nevertheless, you need to:
- Obtain the Cisco Media Convergence Server (MCS) hardware for Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
- Make sure that the specific Cisco MCS model supports the number of SIP sessions required by your Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system.
- Not all Release 6.0 features are supported in Release 7.1. See the "Features No Longer Supported in Release 7.1" and "System Capacity Limits" section in the Release Notes for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.1.
