Up one level: Planning Your Deployment

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0 is a SIP-based architecture integrated via UC Manager that provides a rich-media voice, video, and web conferencing solution to large enterprises .

Scalability for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.1

  • Voice conferencing can scale to 1000 ports in a single system using modular Media Servers for redundancy and DSP mixing for voice and video.
  • Video conferencing scales up to 300 video ports (using "Standard Rate") or 150 video ports (using "High Rate") and supports a wide variety of endpoints from Cisco Unified video telephony to H.323/H.320 and SIP endpoints from third-party providers.
  • Web conferencing offers three solutions for enterprises to choose from:
    • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace web conferencing (scales to 1000 users)
    • Cisco WebEx web conferencing (scales to 1000 sessions)
    • A combination of both Cisco Unified MeetingPlace and Cisco WebEx

NOTE: The supported number of web conferencing users is impacted by your chosen applications and features. If you have SSL and recording enabled, system support for the number of web conferencing users drops from 1000 to 700 users. This is inclusive of all internal and external servers and clusters. The maximum number of web users per meeting equals the maximum number of ports per server. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace does not support a single meeting spanning multiple servers.

Scalability for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Release 7.0.2

  • Voice conferencing can scale to 1500 ports (using G.711 or G.729) or 1000 ports (using G.722 or iLBC) in a single system using modular Media Servers for redundancy and DSP mixing for voice and video.
  • Video conferencing scales up to 300 video ports (using "Standard Rate") or 150 video ports (using "High Rate") and supports a wide variety of endpoints from Cisco Unified video telephony to H.323 and SIP endpoints from third-party providers.
  • Using the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference integration, the system scales to 100 simultaneous voice and web users.
