Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, Release 6.x

Installation Order of Components

Install the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace components and integration applications in the following order:

  1. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server.
For details, see Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server, Release 6.x.
  2. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace H.323/SIP Gateway (if you have an IP-based installation).
Loading the H.323/SIP Gateway second allows you to test dial-in access to the Audio Server system. Then you can confirm that the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8106 or Cisco Unified MeetingPlace 8112 is functioning correctly before any critical Cisco Unified MeetingPlace integration applications are installed.
For details, see Cisco Unified MeetingPlace H.323/SIP IP Gateway, Release 5.3.
  3. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing.
For details, see Installing Web Conferencing.
  4. Your MCU.
For details, see Documentation for Cisco Unified Videoconferencing 3500 Series Products
  5. Video Administration for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace.
For details, see Installing the Video Administration for Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Component
  6. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration.
For details, see Cisco Unified MeetingPlace, Release 6.x -- Installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration Component
  7. Any of the following applications:
    • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace SMTP E-Mail Gateway.
For details, see Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace SMTP E-Mail Gateway
    • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Outlook.
For details, see Installing Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Outlook
    • Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Notes.
For details, see Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Lotus Notes Installation and Configuration
  8. Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Directory Services.
For details, see Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Directory Services, Release 5.4

The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Network Backup Gateway can be installed anytime after the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server.

For information on specific requirements for these components, see the System Requirements.

Uninstalling Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Components

If you need to uninstall a complete Cisco Unified MeetingPlace system, you need to follow the reverse order in which the components were installed. If you have components that can only be installed on top of Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing, such as Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Video Integration, Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for Microsoft Outlook, or Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Notes, you need to uninstall them before you uninstall Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing.

The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace H.323/SIP Gateway can reside on the same machine as Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing but does not depend on it, so you can uninstall it before or after you uninstall Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing, but you should uninstall the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace H.323/SIP Gateway before you uninstall the Gateway SIM.
