Related to template sizing. In our HCS environment most customers are smaller so we are using the 2500 OVA template. Some of these customer will grow and we will need the resources of the 7500 or 10000 OVA templates but do not want to consume system resources until they are needed. Knowing that vCPU and RAM can be modified and is supported, the question becomes: can we build a custom OVA template that would contain minimal vCPU and RAM but the max of 2x80GB HDD so that as a customer grows all we have to do is modify vCPU and RAM settings and would this be considered supported and pass applications installation checks?

How about supporting thin provisioning? This way a customer could support minimal vCPU and vRAM which could be upgraded in the future combined with thin provisioning for the HDD.
