Switch Version Fails on Pub Even After the Upgrade is Successful

Problem Summary The user gets a failure message while running switch version on node 1.
Error Message “Switch version can not be performed as upgrade on node 2 (Subscriber) is either incomplete or not started at all” or “Cluster Manager Service is either down or clustering is not proper on Publisher.”
Possible Cause
  • Cluster manager service is not running on both nodes.
  • Refresh Upgrade is not complete on node 2.
Recommended Action
  • Upgrade should be first initiated on node 2. Switch version should be tried only after successfully completing upgrade on node 1.
Note Note:
  • After completing switch version on node 1, the user should perform switch version on node 2.
  • Restarting the system manually after switch failure is mandatory.
  • There is no option to initiate upgrade and continue running 9.0(1) immediately after upgrade is done.
