Supported OVA Templates: IM and Presence
Important Note 1: If you have more than 10,000 users in Cisco Unified Communications Manager, you must use the 5,000 user OVA template at a minimum, even if you plan to license less than 5,000 users in IM and Presence.
Important Note 2: The recommendations below only apply to single cluster deployments. For intercluster deployments, Cisco recommends that you use the 5000 user OVA template at a minimum.
Maximum Users per node in Full UC mode Maximum Users per cluster supported in Full UC Mode (HA) Maximum Users per node in IM-Only mode Maximum Users per cluster supported in IM-Only Mode (HA) vCPU Cores vRAM / Memory vDisk vNIC Notes
500 Full UC users 1500 Full UC users 1000 IM-only users 3000 IM-only users 1 vCPU (700 MHz reserved) 2 GB RAM with 2 GB reservation 1x 80 GB vHDD 1

For use on all supported UCS, HP, IBM, and Specs-based hardware platforms except BE 6000 solution (can be used on C200M2 TRC#1 and C220M3S TRC#2 platforms if not using BE 6000 solution).
If you are migrating from a physical server with more than 80 GB of storage space to a virtual machine with a user deployment size of either 500 or 2000, see the Disaster Recovery System Administration Guide for more information.
Supports VMware vSphere ESXi 4 and 5.

1000 Full UC users (BE6k only) 1000 Full UC users 2000 IM-only users 2000 IM-only users 1 vCPU (1500 MHz reserved) 2 GB RAM with 2 GB reservation 1x 80 GB vHDD 1

For use with BE 6000 only (however, can also be used on C200M2 TRC#1 and C220M3S TRC#2 if not using BE 6000 solution, but the BE 6000 maximum users per cluster limits apply) .
Supports VMware vSphere ESXi 4 and 5.

2000 Full UC users 6000 Full UC users 2000 IM-only users 6000 IM-only users 1 vCPU (1500 MHz reserved) 4 GB RAM with 4 GB reservation 1x 80 GB vHDD 1 Not for use with UCS C200M2 TRC#1, C220M3S TRC#2 or BE 6000.

If you are migrating from a physical server with more than 80 GB of storage space to a virtual machine with a user deployment size of either 500 or 2000, see the Disaster Recovery System Administration Guide for more information. Supports VMware vSphere ESXi 4 and 5.

5000 Full UC users 15000 Full UC users 12500 IM-only users 37500 IM-only users 2 vCPU (2500 MHz reserved) 4 GB RAM with 4 GB reservation 2x 80 GB vHDD 1 Not for use with UCS C200M2 TRC#1, C220M3S TRC#2 or BE 6000.

Supports VMware vSphere ESXi 4 and 5.

15000 Full UC users 45000 Full UC users 25000 IM-only users 75000 IM-only users 4 vCPU (8000 MHz reserved) 6 GB RAM with 6 GB reservation 2x 80 GB vHDD 1 Not for use with UCS C200M2 TRC#1, C220M3S TRC#2 or BE 6000.

Supports VMware vSphere ESXi 4 and 5.

Note: Any of the user base sizes above can be used when performing a DRS migration from a physical machine with a disk capacity of less than 80 GB (for example, MCS-7825-H2).
