Token Ring Interface Processor (TRIP)

Definition

The Token Ring Interface Processor (TRIP) is a high-speed interface processor on the Cisco 7000 series routers. The TRIP provides two or four Token Ring ports for interconnection with IEEE 802.5 and IBM Token Ring media with ports independently set to speeds of either 4 or 16 Mbps.
