Reliable SAP Update Protocol (RSUP)

Bandwidth-saving protocol developed by Cisco for propagating services information. RSUP allows routers to reliably send standard Novell SAP packets only when the routers detect a change in advertised services. RSUP can transport network information either with or independently of the Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP) routing function for IPX.
