Gateway Discovery Protocol (GDP)

Definition

Cisco protocol that allows hosts to dynamically detect the addition of new routers to a network. It also enables the host to determine when a router goes down. Gateway Discovery Protocol (GDP) is based on User Datagram Protocol (UDP).
