Cisco ISDN User Part (C-ISUP)

Definition

Cisco proprietary protocol based on ISDN User Part (ISUP). ISUP is a protocol in the Signaling System 7 (SS7) system.

Details

ISUP defines the protocol and procedures used to set up, manage, and release trunk circuits that carry voice and data over the public switched telephone network (PSTN). ISUP is used for both ISDN and non-ISDN calls.
