Session shows inconsistent durations
Problem Summary | The session duration shows up in the API and in the S&P application as 2 to 3 seconds longer than the duration of actual media. |
---|---|
Error Message | None |
Possible Cause | The session duration reported in the Search and Play application is the duration from the SIP Invite to SIP Bye messages. However, the media itself is usually 2-3 seconds shorter. This media duration is simply the timestamp of the last byte of media minus the timestamp of the first byte of media. The difference also shows up in the Search & Play application and you see it in the session data that is returned from various MediaSense API calls. For example, the player shows a total duration of 20 seconds, but the recording stops playing at about the 18 second mark. |
