Configuration: Server Not Responding to Ping Command

Problem Summary There are several configuration actions that direct the Configuration tool to ping a server. At times, you may receive an error message that indicates that a server did not respond to the Ping command.
Error Message Server did not respond to the ping command.
Possible Cause The server might have ping disabled.
Recommended Action It is safe to ignore these messages, as the Ping is done only to detect typos in the entry of thehost name.
