Previous Topic

The command line interface, which you can access from the console or through a secure shell connection to the server, provides a subset of the operating system functionality that is available through the operating system user interface.

This appendix describes commands that you can use on the Cisco IPT Platform to perform basic operating system functions. The Cisco IPT Platform Administration GUI application also makes these functions available.

Keep in mind that the command line interface is designed for system emergencies and not as a replacement for the user interface.Typically, you would use the command-line interface (CLI) only when a problem occurs while you are using the Cisco IPT Platform Administration interface.
