Cisco Unified MeetingPlace supports a Segmented Meeting Access (SMA-2S) configuration that allows you to provide external access to your users while maintaining network security.

Preparing to Install the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server Software with SMA-2S
Before installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software on a system configured for SMA-2S, complete the tasks below.

Install and configure the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Application Server software on a Cisco MCS. The same Application Server will be used by all the internal and external web servers. |

Determine if you will install SQL Server locally on each internal and external web server or on remote, standalone servers. Note: The internal and external web servers must use separate SQL Server instances. |
The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software requires SQL Server. You can choose to install SQL Server on the internal and external web servers on which you are installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software or on remote, standalone servers.

If you choose to install SQL Server on remote, standalone servers, install both SQL Server 2000 and the appropriate service pack on separate Windows servers before installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software. |

Installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server Software with SMA-2S
This section provides a roadmap of installation tasks. Do the following tasks in the order presented.
Before You Begin
- Complete all of the tasks in the Preparing to Install the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server Software with SMA-2S.

Copy the GUIDS from the internal web server to the external web server, and run the file on the external web server to install registry entries. |

Install the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software on the external web server. |

Copying GUIDS from One Web Server to Another Web Server
The GUIDS entries for the site and the system must match between the internal and external Web Servers and also between all internal servers. Make sure that you run the GUIDS.reg file on each external Web Server before installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server software.
Procedure
- Copy the drive:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\MPWebGUIDS.reg file from the first internal Web Server.
- Paste the GUIDS.reg file in the drive:\Temp directory of the first external Web Server.
- Double-click the GUIDS.reg file from the first internal Web Server, to install it.
- Select OK when prompted to add the information from the GUIDS.reg file to the registry.
Completing the Installation for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server Software with SMA-2S
Perform the following post-installation tasks as appropriate for both the internal and external web servers.
Before You Begin
- Complete all of the tasks in the Installing the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Server Software with SMA-2S.
