This module describes how to change passwords for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace administrator:
- Changing the Passwords for the admin Profile
- Changing the Password for root or mpxadmin on the Application Server
- Changing the Password for root or wbxadmin on the Cisco WebEx Node for MCS

Changing the Passwords for the admin Profile
Note: We recommend that you change the passwords for the preconfigured admin profile to prevent unauthorized access to your system.
The default Profile PIN for the admin profile is 24726, which is used for authentication from a touch-tone phone.
Procedure
- Sign in to the Administration Center.
- Select User Configuration > User Profiles.
- Enter admin in the search field.
- Select Search.
- Select Edit in the same row as the admin profile.
- Configure the following fields:
- User password
- User password confirm
- Profile PIN
- Profile PIN confirm
- Select Save.

Changing the Password for root or mpxadmin on the Application Server
Use this procedure to recover or to change the root or mpxadmin CLI user level password on the Application Server. These passwords are initially set during installation.
Procedure
- Sign in to the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace operating system as the root user.
- At the password prompt, enter the root password.
- The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace operating system desktop appears.
- Right-click the desktop.
- Select New Terminal.
- This brings up a terminal session.
- At the prompt, enter /root/.security/unimmunize.sh.
- At the prompt, enter one of these commands:
- passwd root
- passwd mpxadmin
- At the New password prompt, enter a new password.
- Note: You might see a message that the password you entered is bad. Ignore this message.
- At the Retype new password prompt, re-enter the same password.
- At the prompt, enter /root/.security/immunize.sh.
- On the desktop, select the Red Hat icon.
- Select Log Out.
- Select OK.

Use this procedure to change the root or wbxadmin CLI user level password on the Cisco WebEx Node for MCS. These passwords are initially set during installation.
Procedure
- Sign in to the Cisco WebEx Node CLI.
- Enter one of the following commands, depending on which password you are changing:
- set password root
- set password wbxadmin
- Enter the root password.
- This step is required because set password is a privileged command.
- Enter the new password when prompted.
- Enter exit.
