The Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Audio Server system includes the following hardware and software components:

  • The Audio Server hardware is a call- and voice-processing hardware platform that connects to the phone network and to a compatible LAN.
  • The Audio Server software controls the platform and provides Cisco Unified MeetingPlace functions to desktops on the LAN. It also provides digital telephony access to PSTN callers and IP telephony access to Voice over IP (VoIP) callers.
  • The Audio Server software communicates with other Cisco Unified MeetingPlace components over the LAN or WAN. (For details, see the About Integration Applications.)
