About Proxy Servers

Cisco Unified MeetingPlace Web Conferencing supports most proxy servers on the market. If you are accessing Web Conferencing through a proxy server, set the proxy server as follows:

  • Timeout value from 120 seconds to 300 seconds.
  • Cache expiration policy set to "Explicit Expiration Information Only."

Known Limitations

Some packets from the client meeting room don't sent to the browser proxy server IP, but the breeze IP.

This occurs when SSL is enabled, so everything is over 443 and you use a proxy to connect to MPWEB.

About five percent of packets sent from the PC of an end user do not get sent to the proxy server IP address, but to the Breeze IP address directly. If you block all traffic of the default gateway of the PC of an end user, the traffic incorrectly sent to the Breeze IP address is lost, causing a latency of 600-700ms in the meeting room.

We recommend that you allow packets directly to the Breeze IP address from the PCs of end users.
