Installing the IBM Lotus Domino Server

These installation steps are a supplement to the standard procedures provided by IBM for IBM Lotus Domino and for IBM Lotus Sametime server deployments. You should follow the instructions on the IBM web site, making sure to incorporate the steps in this integration note to ensure that the system is compatible for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference integration.

Before You Begin

If you have Microsoft IIS running on your Windows server, stop the IIS service, and change the service startup type to Manual or to Disable.

Procedure
  1. Install the IBM Lotus Domino server as a stand-alone server.
  2. Follow the IBM installation instructions:
Note: If you plan to deploy LDAP, review the configuration information in the Configuring the IBM Lotus Domino Server.
  3. Verify access to the IBM Lotus Domino server by pointing your browser to http://<hostname.your.com>/names.nsf.

Installing the IBM Lotus Sametime Server

You should follow the instructions on the IBM web site, making sure to incorporate the steps in this integration note to ensure that the system is compatible for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference integration.

Procedure
  1. Shut down the Domino server before running the IBM Lotus Sametime server installer.
  2. Run the IBM Lotus Sametime server installer.
Make sure that you are using a Sametime server installation package that contains the IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conferencing components.
  3. Follow these steps if you use Cisco MCS OS on MCS and receive an error on the Finish screen:
    1. Open a command prompt.
    2. Change to this directory: C:\Programs\Lotus\Domino.
    3. Run stsetup.exe.
    4. Restart the IBM Lotus Domino server.

Configuring the IBM Lotus Domino Server

These installation steps are a supplement to the standard procedures provided by IBM for IBM Lotus Domino and for IBM Lotus Sametime server deployments. You should follow the instructions on the IBM web site, making sure to incorporate the steps in this integration note to ensure that the system is compatible for the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace for IBM Lotus Sametime Web Conference integration.

Procedure
  1. Configure the IBM Lotus Domino server by following the instructions on the IBM web site:
  2. Configure the LDAP directory server on the IBM Lotus Domino server.
If you use LDAP authentication, you must properly set up the LDAP server settings on the IBM Lotus Domino server to work with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace. Doing so will enable the chair-only features (for example, end meeting, mute participants, lock the meeting) to be available to the meeting scheduler. For details, see http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/sametime/v8r0/index.jsp?topic=/com.ibm.help.sametime.standard.doc/st_adm_ldap_dir_considerations_c.html
Make sure to set these two attributes to the same value:
    • Directory Assistance (da.nsf) attribute: Attribute To Be Used as Notes Distinguished Name
    • Sametime Configuration (stconfig.nsf) LDAP server schema setting: People (the attribute of the person entry that defines the internal ID of an IBM Lotus Sametime user)
