Up one level: Integrating with Microsoft Outlook

The Microsoft Outlook with Cisco Unified MeetingPlace integration is composed of two parts: a back-end deployment and a front-end deployment.

• With a front-end deployment, end users schedule Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meetings from Microsoft Outlook and not from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace end-user web interface.
• With a back-end deployment, end users schedule Cisco Unified MeetingPlace meetings from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace end-user web interface and not from Microsoft Outlook.

These deployments are independent of each other. You can implement both deployments on one system; however, you cannot mix notifications. For example, you should not do the following:

• Use Microsoft Outlook to reschedule a meeting that you originally scheduled from the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace end-user web interface.
• Use the Cisco Unified MeetingPlace end-user web interface to reschedule a meeting that you originally scheduled from Microsoft Outlook.

If you reschedule a meeting using the wrong deployment, the system will not send an updated meeting notification to the meeting participants, which can cause confusion.
